Materials from this site are provided for your use under the terms of one or more of the applicable licenses below, generally as specified in the description of materials in the Library. Materials provided in the Data and materials in the Library without a specified license are subject to the Personal and Limited Nonprofit Use License . Ownership and copyright remain with the original content provider or, in the case of page layouts or composite presentations of data, with Global Mapping International. Your use of materials is also subject to the following conditions:
Materials may not be used for purposes hostile to Christian work
The author and/or contributor of each item must be cited in any display or distribution of the item, if not included and visible in the item itself. If space permits, MissionInfoBank.org should be cited as a secondary source. In the case of composite displays of data from multiple sources, MissionInfoBank.org should be cited as the primary source
Unless noted in the item description, items may be modified for distribution or display, but may not be modified in ways that misrepresent their intended meaning. If any data has been modified, the nature and source of the modification must be identified
Materials may be used for any purpose for which you have the express, written permission of the original contributor and any other entitities holding rights to the material
Notwithstanding any provisions in the licenses below, materials from this site may not be used in websites or publications in any medium having the character of clip-art or stock art collections, image libraries, or other means of distributing materials primarily for re-use by third parties
Personal and Limited Non-Profit Use License
Free downloads from the Library area, along with data, maps, and charts from the Data area, may, unless indicated otherwise in description, be used as follows, subject also to the General Provisions above:
Printed or displayed for personal information
Incorporated into presentations given by you personally or distributed to others at no cost
Printed and distributed free to students, staff, members, participants, or donors of a nonprofit organization or school, either separately or in combination with other material, in quantities of less than 500 per year for any individual item
Incorporated into websites or electronic publications of nonprofit organizations or schools, provided that no more than 20 items are used in any website or electronic publication without specific written permission from the content provider or Global Mapping International
Professional Publication License
A professional publication license for a particular item, evidenced by a paid invoice for the license, permits the person or organization purchasing the license to publish an unlimited quantity of the licensed item in any medium, for a period of five years, subject to the requirements of General Conditions
GNU Free Documentation License
The purpose of GNU Free Documentation License is to make a manual, textbook, or other functional and useful document "free" in the sense of freedom: to assure everyone the effective freedom to copy and redistribute it, with or without modifying it, either commercially or noncommercially. Secondarily, this License preserves for the author and publisher a way to get credit for their work, while not being considered responsible for modifications made by others.
Public Domain
Materials designated Public Domain are believed to be in the public domain under U.S. Law, generally due to expired copyright, status as a U.S. Government document, or a contributor stating a desire to place a document in the public domain. Laws regarding the public domain vary from country to country and from time to time. While items in the public domain may generally be distributed in any quantity or form, users should investigate the public domain status of a document under their local law before publishing. For a helpful discussion of public domain, primarily from a U.S. perspective, see Stanford University's site
Contributor Agreement
Representation of Rights
Contributors of material to the MissionInfoBank, regardless of the means of transmission, represent that they either hold the rights to the material submitted or have obtained necessary permission from any other rights holders (e.g. organizational owners of work for hire, past or present publishers, third parties involved in creating the work, etc.) to have the material submitted made available on the MissionResearch.info. Materials received without other instruction will be presumed to be made available at no cost, subject to a Personal and Limited Nonprofit Use License, and may be added to either or both of the Library and Data areas of the site at GMI's discretion.
Withdrawal of Content
Contributors agree that in consideration of the effort required to catalog and if necessary convert submitted materials, they will not request withdrawal of their materials for at least one year after the date of submission, except for good cause. Valid causes include, but are not limited to, a reasonable belief that necessary permissions were not obtained and cannot be obtained from all necessary rights holders or a reasonable belief that the material can be expected to cause harm to persons or to Christian ministry.
